Time to pack our bags!

What a week we have had!

In the middle of a week long trip at our cabins we received big news! We have a travel date! We need to be in our country by July 22nd! Thank you Jesus!!! I can't believe it's finally here. A part of me is thrilled and a part of me is terrified! So much to do in less than 3 weeks!

We still haven't heard of any progress in regards to our sweet little boy. There is a possibility that we might not know until we arrive if his paperwork issues have been worked out. That is a hard thing for me to do - to wait.

We continue to pray much and ask the Lord for scripture to encourage us. He continues to show us that He is in control and His plan cannot be thwarted. At the beginning of our adoption journey He gave us the following verse,

Job 42:1-2, "Then Job replied to the Lord, I know that you can do all things, no plan of yours can be thwarted."

It has become a foundation verse for us and we base everything we are experiencing on it.

He is teaching us what it means to have faith in His word alone, in spite of hopeless earthly circumstances. We know that He can do the impossible. We also believe that whatever the outcome is , it will be far better than what we could ever have hoped for. We know and believe this because His word says, "...He is able to carry out His purpose and so super abundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams." Eph 3:20

For us, this has become an increasingly difficult walk of faith He is asking us to make. And yet, we would not want to be anywhere but at the center of His will. We are amazed and thankful to finally be at this place of traveling soon. After so many months of waiting and working towards the goal the time is almost here. To be going soon and now wondering if I will get to hold the little boy I have dreamed of holding is a hard place to be. If the Lord would choose to take him away, then we will praise and thank Jesus, ask Him for guidance and choose another child. But, for now, based solely on the scripture He is giving us, we are packing for our little girl and our little boy.

I hope you will follow along on our journey. I guarantee you will see the Lord do amazing things!

Hmm...I definitely need to get back to nesting - carpenter style...I have 2 beds to build!

And for our families who read our blog...stay tuned for pictures of our last week at our cabins!

This is such wonderful news! Praise God. We had as much notice and we are in Ukraine now! Blessings on your journey. BTW, Ukraine seems more like America than Russia did to us. Don't worry to much, you will be fine.

OHHHH, Karen!! This is such great news of your soon up-coming travel. I'm sorry Samson's paperwork is still up in the air. That must be extremely difficult. I know that YOU know that GOD knows what He is doing but I so appreciated your reminders when we were traveling.
