Sisters with Ice Cream!

Hi guys, it's Laura here. In a effort to try to relieve some of Karen's "to-do" list, I bring you a post of photos. :) The girls enjoyed having ice cream together for the first time the other night. They are incredible girls!
This time of adjustment is overwhelmingly intense. I ask you to please, please stand with me in prayer for this family. I know Karen in very grateful for everyone's support and prayers. She will try to post when things settle down a bit. In the meantime, you'll just have to enjoy more photos! :)

I am praying for you.
The way of the cross is at times heavy and at times, i find myself feeling, Lord can it be alittle easier? thats what my flesh desires.. until he renews my focus and gives me the grace to remember that it's in being weakest, most dependant, helpless that we fellowship the sweetest. Thank you for goign beyond yourself to love children in need. i will sincerely pray for you. Pam (joni's friend)

It is tremendously hard to bring two 4 year olds into your home....mobile 4 year olds, 4 year olds who have their own personality and their own emotions and their own sense of loss of everything they have ever known. It is very different to adopt children who are mobile and self-sufficient (more than one at a time!), than it is to adopt a 4 year old who is veyr much still like an infant. Totally different ballgame. And when you have other small, dependent children at home already, the workload and chaos can be totally overwhelming. So your prayers for this family and these beautiful little girls, who are all trying to figure out their place in life, are so appreciated. ---Andrea Roberts, Reece's Rainbow Down Syndrome Adoption Ministry

Laura, thank you. What would I do without you?

Pam and Andrea, you pretty much hit the nail on the head...

Right now, it doesn't feel like my head is even close to being above the water.

Your family is in our family's prayers. May you be encouraged to know that God has used you in putting on our hearts the desire to adopt a special needs child (or children), about which we are earnestly praying. Thanks for sharing your journey--both the joys and the challenges, and we'll pray that you will have His peace that surpasses understanding.

"and let us not grow weary in doing good for in due season we will reap if we do not give up." Gal. 6:9

"and God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work." 2 Cor 9:8

God bless you!

Karen,

Just a few reminders....hold on to these...even when you can't feel it or see it...trust others' faith on your behalf:

1. Things are going to get better.

2. You are NOT alone!

3. You are loved and prayed for and the King delights in you!

4. ALL of your children are beautiful and the Father has enough love, through you and others, for each one.

5. His grace is sufficient for this hour. Do the next thing and don't let your mind jump to even one hour beyond that.

6. Rest is His gift to you. Take it when you can.

It's going to get better, Karen! You will look back and see your Faithful One carrying you through the fall of 2008.

Much love,
Kristin

Karen, praying for extra measures of strength for you, my dear friend. I wish I was there to help you in some way. God loves you so much, and is so proud of His daughter; and, as the "abba" daddy that He is, He is there close by when you call. Love you.
